China's Next Wave Exhibition, Munich, July to August 2007
Presented July to August 2007 at Galerie Traversee in Munich, Germany China’s Next Wave was conceived as a series of contradictory, complementary and highly intense experiences by artists either born or living in China today. The artists involved come from such different backgrounds and levels of education that any attempt to classify them into a single category that can apply for all its aspects is useless. The interplay of different artistic positions resulted in an exhibition of transgression and the expansion of boundaries. China's Next Wave embraces not only new directions forward being taken by Chinese artists, but also the preservation of vanishing cultures. Curator: Szewan Leung. Artists: Qi Yang, Li Tianyuan, Chow Chun Fai, Tang Cheng Hua, Xu Zhongmin.
